Area

Position Description

Event Manager (FILLED) Managing all aspects of planning and execution of event, including but not limited to: venue sourcing and booking; setting up application forms and spreadsheets; callouts to stall holders, volunteers and sponsors; coordinating volunteer team leaders; organising film screenings; sourcing MCs, speakers and entertainers; working with Graphic/Website Designer in the design of website and printed materials; updating CFF Facebook page; ordering all other requirements for festival (staging, AV, furniture, online tickets booking provider, merchandise, ATMs, waste bins, ambulance etc).
Volunteer Coordinator (FILLED) Coordinating all event volunteers, including but not limited to accepting and assessing volunteer applications, contacting and communicating selected applicants, referring volunteers to relevant team leaders, generally managing volunteers on the day of the event.
Graphic Designer/
Website Developer
Website development and maintenance, publication design for printed materials, create templates for the writing and social media team to use for all media communications. Animal Liberation/CFF have a professional designer for all printed materials and website design.
PR/Marketing Company or Person

 

The CFF is seeking a PR/Marketing company or a person experienced in the field to develop and implement a comprehensive media communication strategy and promotional plan. If a company offers pro bono support, they will receive sponsorship acknowledgement in return. If an individual person volunteers, they will need to be a media savvy, creative professional. They will have a broad understanding of event marketing using a wide range of media, including print/radio/social media.

Manager
The CFF is seeking an experienced sponsorship manager to actively source appropriate supporters of the festival (i.e. vegan organisations/companies). This will include contacting former sponsors to ask if they would be interested in sponsoring the CFF in 2018, as well as potential new sponsors.
Social Media
(SM) Team
Leader  (FILLED)
The SM Team Leader will coordinate all SM activities, and Assistants. The SM Team will actively engage with stallholders, speakers, performers and sponsors, in order to promote them, and the festival as a whole, across all CFF SM channels.

(SM) Assistants
The SM Team will cover and report via all CFF social media channels, as per the description above. Assistants are required for: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr
Writers Team
Leader (FILLED)
The Writer Team Leader will coordinate the Writers Team to resource and write articles about cruelty-free related issues and the festival, for the website and social media channels. All participants, including speakers, performers, sponsors and stallholders are interviewed for the CFF website and SM channels. The Writers Team Leader will work with the Social Media Team Leader to ensure that all comms are in line with CFF ‘style and content’ (i.e. consistent across all channels). Press Releases and Outreach comms to other organisations and media outlets are also an essential part of this role.
Writers Team The Writers Team will interview all CFF participants, and work with the Social Media team to promote all CFF activities. These posts are always accompanied by a photo/image.
Photo Exhibition Team Leader The “My Human Family” Rescue Dog Photo Exhibition is a one-day pop-up exhibition at CFF featuring a selection of large format photos of families with their rescue dogs, with images and stories. The Team Leader will oversee the Assistants, ensuring the photos are placed well, and hung professionally, then taken down and neatly packed up at the end of the day.
Photo Exhibition Assistants The morning team will attach the photos on the venue walls before the event, with the afternoon team packing up at the end of the day.
Distribution

(pre-event)

Team Leader

Printed material including posters and flyers are a major tool used by CFF to promote the event.
The Distribution Team Leader will coordinate the Assistants in identifying appropriate venues i.e. cafes, bars, restaurants, clubs, shops, schools, universities etc. that are willing to support our event, and ensure as many flyers and posters are distributed as possible.

Entry to CFF is via online ticket sales (Humanitix) or entry at the door. Two entry counters are set up in the front of the main door, one for pre-booked tickets, and one for on door sales. Patrons are given a wrist stamp once admitted. The Team Leader is responsible for coordinating set-up and pack-down of this area, and managing assistants in the checking of online tickets (electronic and hard copy versions) to ensure orderly entry to the venue.

Desk Team Leader
The Information Desk is the CFF Hub on event day. Entry is free for stallholder staff, volunteer crew, entertainers and speakers – they are all given wrist bands at the Info Desk upon entry.

Festival Attendees will go here for information on the festival layout and to find out what’s happening and when. Raffle prizes are also delivered here by stallholders and sponsors. The Info Desk Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the setup and pack-down of the area, and for coordinating the Info Desk Assistants, to ensure clear information and directions are given to all festival goers, stall holders, volunteers and other CFF participants.

The Info Desk Assistants will assist with setup and/or pack down of this area, and provide clear directions and information to festival goers, stallholders, volunteers and CFF participants. They will also be issuing wristbands to all relevant people (as above). Raffle prizes are also delivered here by stallholders and sponsors. Assistants will log the raffle prizes and donator details as they arrive.
Merchandise
Desk Team
Leader
A second table will be set up for the merchandise sales just inside the entrance, where CFF T-shirts and tote bags will be sold. The Team Leader will coordinate the Assistants in setting up the desk in a tidy and orderly fashion, then selling to the festival attendees.

Children’s Activities (CA) Team Leader The Children’s Activities Corner is a space for families with children to relax and have some fun. This space focuses on providing animal themed activities for children. The CA Team Leader is responsible for planning the day’s workshop activities, including sourcing appropriate and experienced facilitators, ordering basic materials, managing assistants, set up and pack down.

NB: all crew working in CA area must have a Working With Children’s Check, which is free for volunteers (see link at the top of the volunteer application form).

Children’s Activities (CA) Assistants CA Assistants help with setup/pack down of the space, helping the facilitators to run the workshops, as well as looking after the kids and ensuring all activities in this area run smoothly and safely. NB: all crew working in CA area must have a Working With Children’s Check, which is free for volunteers (see link at the top of the volunteer application form).
Film Screening
Team Leader
The  Film Screening Team Leader will be the main point of contact for the film screening stage. This role includes meeting and greeting the MCs and speakers, and ensuring the program runs to a strict time schedule, overseeing Assistants, and working alongside the AV technicians.
Film Screening Assistants MS Assistants will assist with set up/pack down of the area as well as helping the Team Leader with the activities as listed above.
Video and Stills Photographers Still images and videos are important tools to promote CFF. The aim is to capture the fun and festivities on the day across all event areas. Images will be used to promote the festival post-event and will be used for future promotion of the festival. CFF is seeking people with video and photographic experience to capture all aspects of the event, and with a coordinated effort can focus on one, multiple or all areas of the festival. They are then required to edit the images/footage as required and provide to the Event Manager in a timely fashion.
Raffle Sales
Team Leader
All CFF stallholders are invited to donate prizes to the raffle to raise funds for Animal Liberation. All contributors are listed on the CFF website and read out on the main stage at the time of the draw. Pre-event, Raffle Team Leader is responsible for coordinating all details of the raffle from contacting contributors, updating the raffle database (with all prize details, contributors and
image collection). On the day of the event, the Raffle Team Leader manages the raffle stall set up, prize display, prize delivery, ticket sales and ticket sellers, cash floats sign in & out.

Assistants
The Raffle Sales Assistants are responsible for selling raffle tickets on the day, both at the raffle desk and roving through the venue. Cash floats will be issued and need to be signed in and out with the Raffle Sales Team Leader. There will be regular cash collections made throughout the day by Animal Liberation staff.
Stall Setup Team Leader The Stall Setup Team Leader will be the point of contact for stall holder arrivals and deliveries. This role requires management of the set-up crew to ensure stalls are set up with the correct number of tables and chairs and assist directing stall holders to their correct position. Floor plans will be provided.
Setup Assistants As above, the Setup Assistants are responsible for making sure the event is set up in a safe and orderly fashion, and to assist stall holders unload swiftly for a smooth set up experience.
Bump Out Team Leader The Bump Out Team Leader is responsible in ensuring that the venue is packed up in a timely and professional manner, adhering to all health and safety regulations, managing bump out crew and providing support for stall holders at the close of business.
Bump Out Assistants As above, the Bump Out Assistants are responsible in ensuring that the venue is packed up in a timely and professional manner, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Their primary role is to assist stall holders, as required, in leaving the venue in a timely manner.
Safety/Traffic Controller Team Leader Safety/Traffic Controller will be responsible, along with venue security, to ensure that all traffic entering and leaving the venue loading dock, and via the venue carpark, do so safe, timely and orderly fashion.
Safety/Traffic Controller Assistants Safety/Traffic Controller Assistants are there primarily to help the Team Leader guide stallholders into and out of the loading dock, and from the venue carpark to their stalls. .
General
Assistants Team Leader
General Assistants Team Leader will manage the Assistants for all general duties, including set up/pack down, assisting stallholders, monitoring the venue for cleanliness, and just being a great help on the day!
